This article applies to both GoodSync for Windows and GoodSync for Mac unless noted otherwise.
If a conflict occurs with files having no differences other than creation time, it can be resolved by a "Copy Time" action instead of copying the file itself. That saves time and bandwidth as it does not require the entire file to be transferred. The guide below shows this in action.
1) First, you need to know how to identify the issue as a time-related conflict. Below, you can see that the "L Size" and "R Size" are the exact same. Note the conflict is reported as "R:TimeSize<>." You can also see that the time is different for each file from Left to Right.
2) To resolve this conflict, right-click on the Job name or use the "Action" menu and select "Change Direction to." You will see options to "Copy Time L to R" and "Copy Time R to L." Choose which time you would like to copy and then choose the appropriate option.
3) Once you have selected the appropriate option, you can confirm that the conflicts will be resolved by copying time by examining the icon present in the middle column. When you have confirmed that the conflicts will be resolved by copying time, click "Sync" to complete the sync and resolve all conflicts.
4) Upon the sync completion, you will notice an equal sign in the middle column, signifying that the files are in sync and conflict-free.
