After creating a job, you can configure it to run automatically or start it manually.
Before assigning a job to a Runner, make sure the Runner has been authorized. For instructions, see Authorizing Runners.
Select the job you want to configure.
From the job page, you can assign the job to one or more individual Runners.
For information about assigning jobs to groups of Runners, see Runner Groups.
Select the checkbox to the right of the job, then click Actions.
The Actions menu provides the following options:
- Assign Job to Runner: Assigns the selected job to one or more Runner devices. The job runs according to its configured Auto Options.
- Delete: Deletes the job from Control Center. The job is also removed from connected GoodSync applications through GoodSync Account Sync.

Deactivate: Retains the job settings and Runner assignments but prevents the job from running on its assigned Runner devices. The job is also hidden from the active job list.
To reactivate the job, change the job filter from Show only active to Show All or Show only inactive. Select the job, then click Actions > Activate.
After selecting Assign Job to Runner, select the Runner or Runners to which you want to assign the job.
Select the required Auto Options for each Runner. Newly selected Auto Options appear to the right of the corresponding Runner.
If automatic scheduling is already configured, the job will begin running automatically on the assigned devices according to its Auto Options.
If automatic scheduling has not been configured, select one of the following Auto Options.
On File Change
Monitors the source, destination, or both for file changes. When a change is detected, GoodSync automatically runs Analyze and Sync after the configured delay.
The Delay value determines how many seconds GoodSync waits after the most recently detected change before starting Analyze and Sync.
On File Change supports the following file systems:
- Windows file systems and local disks, except drive root folders.
- Windows network shares, except NAS devices that do not properly report file changes.
- Mac file systems and local disks.
- Any supported file system listed above when accessed remotely through the GSTP protocol using GoodSync Connect.
Note: Changes that occur during Analyze or Sync are detected and processed during the next job run.
On Folders Connect
Runs Analyze and Sync when a specified job folder becomes available.
GoodSync checks the availability of the Left and Right folders every 3 minutes.
The following events can accelerate the detection of a connected or disconnected folder:
- Inserting or ejecting a removable drive or portable volume.
- Connecting to or disconnecting from a network used by FTP, SFTP, or DAV folders.
Do not use On Folders Connect together with On File Change. On Folders Connect takes precedence.
Periodically (On Timer)
Runs Analyze and Sync repeatedly at the configured interval.
Enter the interval in hours and minutes.
On Schedule
Runs Analyze and Sync according to a specified schedule.
The following scheduling values can be configured:
- Minute: 0 to 59
- Hour: 0 to 23
- Day of Month: 1 to 31
- Month: 1 to 12
- Day of Week: 0 = Sunday through 6 = Saturday
Note: When a scheduling field is left blank, GoodSync runs the job for every valid value within that field's range.
GoodSync can wake a Windows computer from Sleep or Standby mode to run an On Schedule job.
Make sure wake timers are enabled under:
Control Panel > Power Options > Change Plan Settings > Change Advanced Power Settings > Sleep > Allow Wake Timers
Run a Job Manually
You can also start a job manually from its job page.
Open the job, then click Run Jobs in the upper-right corner.
Select the Runner or Runners on which you want to run the job, then start the manual job run.
After the job completes, review the results in the Job Runs History section.
