This tutorial will detail the steps for activation in both online and offline environments:
Make sure you have downloaded the appropriate installer for your Windows environment. If you have not downloaded the installer yet, you may do so by clicking the link below that matches the license you purchased:
GoodSync Workstation for Windows
You will also need a GoodSync account to activate your installation. If you do not have a GoodSync account yet, review our tutorials for account creation.
Make sure that you have added your purchased licenses to your GoodSync account. If you have not, see our tutorial on how to add licenses to your account.
Online Activation
1) Start GoodSync and click on Tools >> GoodSync Account Setup menu item.
2) Enter your account information, and click the "Log In" button.
NOTE: Leave the "Offline mode" option unchecked for online activation.
3) Next, you will be prompted to specify the computer name and set up additional settings.
Based on the "Serve files to other devices" setting, GoodSync will act either as a server or a client:
"Serve files to other devices" unchecked (Client): GoodSync installed on this computer can make outgoing requests only and cannot accept incoming requests.
"Serve files to other devices" checked (Server): GoodSync installed on this computer can accept incoming requests. You will be able to access data located on the computer from GoodSync installed on other devices.
"Direct Addressing setup": Checking this option will place GoodSync Server Administrator account onto your server, and you will address this server directly via IP name or address.
"Server will impersonate Windows User": Specify credentials of a Windows account that may be needed to access your encrypted disks, shares, etc.
Set up your preferred settings. Then, click the "Next" button.
4) Activation is now complete. Click the "Close" button to finish.
Offline Activation
1) Start GoodSync and click on Tools >> GoodSync Account Setup menu item.
2) Enter your account information, check the "Offline mode" option, and click "Log In."
3) Next, you will be prompted to specify the computer name and set up additional settings.
Based on the "Serve files to other devices" setting, GoodSync will act either as a server or a client:
"Serve files to other devices" unchecked (Client): GoodSync installed on this computer can make outgoing requests only and cannot accept incoming requests.

4) GoodSync Account setup is now complete. Click the "Close" button.
5) Click on Help >> Activate License menu item.
6) Select the "Activate via Browser (use only if this computer is offline)" option. Then, click the "Next" button.
7) GoodSync will generate an offline Activation Request. Click the "Copy" button to copy it to your clipboard.
8) Navigate to a computer with internet access and log in to your GoodSync account. Once logged in, click on the "Licenses" tab. Then, click on "Activate Licenses Via Browser."
9) Enter the offline Activation Request obtained from the GoodSync application into the field below and click "Activate License."
10) Activation Response will be returned to you. Click "Copy" to copy the Activation Response, take it to the device you are looking to activate and paste it into the empty box in the activation window. Then, click "Next."
11) The activation is now complete. Click the "Finish" button.
