The following steps explain how to install and register a Windows Job Runner with GoodSync Control Center.
Important: A Company PIN is required when registering a new Runner. All installation examples below include the required /cc-copin parameter.
Existing registered Runners do not need to be reinstalled or registered again.
Step 1: Download the Windows Runner
Download the Control Center installer for Windows: GoodSync CC Runner for Windows
Step 2: Locate Your Company ID and Company PIN
Open https://jobs.goodsync.com and log in to your company account.
Locate your Company ID under the Settings tab or on the top left corner next to Company Name in Control Center.
This ensures the installer connects the Runner to your company's Control Center environment.
Company PIN: If your company already has a PIN, use that PIN when installing new Runners.
If your company does not have a PIN configured, an administrator must create one:
- Open Settings.
- Select Company Settings.
- Click Edit Company Settings.
- Enter a Company PIN and save your changes.
New Company PINs must contain 8–20 letters or numbers.
Note: Your Company PIN is different from your GoodSync account password.
Step 3: Open Command Prompt
Open Command Prompt and navigate to the folder where the installer was downloaded.
By default, this will typically be the Downloads folder.
Use the cd command to navigate through your directory structure as needed.
Once you are in the correct directory, select the installation method that best fits your environment.
User Setup Methods
There are two ways to set up the GoodSync CC Runner on Windows:
1) User Space: The Runner operates only while the Windows user is logged in.
This method is recommended for mass deployment, as it does not require the Windows user account password.
2) Service: The Runner operates continuously as a Windows service, even when the user is logged off.
Service installations can use a Windows user account or the SYSTEM account.
When using a specific Windows user account, valid Windows credentials are required.
User Space Installation
Use the following commands to install the Runner in User Space.
Important: Replace YOUR_COMPANY_ID and YOUR_COMPANY_PIN with your actual company information.
Without Account Sync
If Account Sync is not enabled, use the following command:
GoodSync-vsub-CC-Runner-Setup.exe /cc-runner=user /cc-coid=YOUR_COMPANY_ID /cc-copin=YOUR_COMPANY_PIN /S
With Account Sync
If Account Sync is enabled, include the GoodSync account User ID and password.
GoodSync-vsub-CC-Runner-Setup.exe /cc-runner=user /cc-coid=YOUR_COMPANY_ID /cc-copin=YOUR_COMPANY_PIN /gs-userid=yourcompany@companydomain.com /gs-pwd=YOUR_GOODSYNC_PASSWORD /S
Example:
GoodSync-vsub-CC-Runner-Setup.exe /cc-runner=user /cc-coid=1 /cc-copin=12345678 /gs-userid=yourcompany@companydomain.com /gs-pwd=YOUR_GOODSYNC_PASSWORD /S
Replace the example Company ID, Company PIN, and GoodSync account credentials with your actual values.
Self-Hosted Control Center
If using a self-hosted Control Center, include the /cc-url parameter to specify your Control Center server address.
GoodSync-vsub-CC-Runner-Setup.exe /cc-runner=user /cc-coid=YOUR_COMPANY_ID /cc-copin=YOUR_COMPANY_PIN /cc-url=http://192.168.13.6 /S
Replace the example IP address with the address of your self-hosted Control Center.
If Account Sync is enabled, also include /gs-userid and /gs-pwd.
Note: The word user in /cc-runner=user should not be replaced with an actual Windows username.
For example, /cc-runner=john is incorrect.
Service Setup
Service mode allows the Runner to operate continuously as a Windows service, even when no user is logged in.
You can configure the Runner to operate under a Windows user account or the Windows SYSTEM account.
Service Installation Using a Windows Account
Use the following command to install the Runner under a specific Windows account:
GoodSync-vsub-CC-Runner-Setup.exe /cc-runner=service /cc-coid=YOUR_COMPANY_ID /cc-copin=YOUR_COMPANY_PIN /gs-userid=yourcompany@companydomain.com /gs-pwd=YOUR_GOODSYNC_PASSWORD /sys-userid=YOUR_WINDOWS_USER /sys-passwd=YOUR_WINDOWS_PASSWORD /S
Replace the example values with your Company ID, Company PIN, GoodSync account credentials, and Windows account credentials.
Service Installation Using SYSTEM
The Runner can also be installed to operate under the Windows SYSTEM account.
This method does not require a Windows user password for the SYSTEM account.
GoodSync-vsub-CC-Runner-Setup.exe /cc-runner=service /cc-coid=YOUR_COMPANY_ID /cc-copin=YOUR_COMPANY_PIN /sys-userid=SYSTEM /gs-userid=yourcompany@companydomain.com /gs-pwd=YOUR_GOODSYNC_PASSWORD /S
If Account Sync is not enabled, the /gs-userid and /gs-pwd parameters can be omitted.
Self-Hosted Control Center Service
If using a self-hosted Control Center, include the /cc-url parameter.
GoodSync-vsub-CC-Runner-Setup.exe /cc-runner=service /cc-coid=YOUR_COMPANY_ID /cc-copin=YOUR_COMPANY_PIN /sys-userid=YOUR_WINDOWS_USER /sys-passwd=YOUR_WINDOWS_PASSWORD /cc-url=http://192.168.13.6 /S
Replace the example server address and Windows account credentials with your environment's information.
If Account Sync is enabled, include the /gs-userid and /gs-pwd parameters.
Service Setup Notes
- Service installations using a Windows user account require valid /sys-userid and /sys-passwd values.
- When using SYSTEM, a Windows account password is not required.
- All new Runner registrations require a Company PIN.
- If Account Sync is enabled, include /gs-userid and /gs-pwd.
- Service installations using named Windows accounts may not be suitable for mass deployment when credentials differ across devices.
- Once installed, the Runner operates as a Windows service and continues running when no user is logged in.
- Each device running GoodSync requires an appropriate license, including devices using the SYSTEM account.
Parameters and Options
The following parameters can be used when installing the GoodSync Control Center Runner.

- /cc-runner=user – Installs the GoodSync Control Center Runner in User Space mode.
- /cc-runner=service – Installs the GoodSync Control Center Runner as a Windows service.

-
/cc-url=ServerURL – Specifies the Control Center server from which the Runner receives jobs.
Default: https://jobs.goodsync.com/ - /S – Installs the GoodSync CC Runner silently, without interactive setup prompts.
Mass Deployment and Scheduled Tasks
The /S parameter allows the Runner installer to run silently, without requiring interactive user input.
This is useful for unattended installations and mass deployment using:
- Group Policy
- Windows Task Scheduler
- Enterprise software deployment tools
For large-scale deployment across multiple devices, the same User Space installation command can be distributed to all clients.
Important: Every new Runner registration must include the correct Company PIN.
After the initial installation, the Runner automatically creates its own startup task, so the installation command only needs to be executed once per device.
Example of a Scheduled Task
The following example installs the Runner in User Space mode:
GoodSync-vsub-CC-Runner-Setup.exe /cc-runner=user /cc-coid=YOUR_COMPANY_ID /cc-copin=YOUR_COMPANY_PIN /S
Replace YOUR_COMPANY_ID and YOUR_COMPANY_PIN with your company's actual values.
If Account Sync is enabled, also include /gs-userid and /gs-pwd.
Security Note: Installation scripts containing Company PINs or account passwords should be protected and accessible only to authorized administrators.
Authorize the New Runner
Once the installation is complete, return to GoodSync Control Center.
- Open the Runners tab.
- Locate the newly registered device.
- Select the checkbox next to the device.
- Click Actions > Authorize and save the changes.
Once authorized, the device will display Authorized: True.
After the Runner connects to Control Center, its status should display as Online.
The Runner is now registered and can receive jobs assigned through GoodSync Control Center.
