We’ve introduced a new account-linking model in GoodSync Control Center, called Account Sync. This update changes how jobs, groups, and server accounts are managed across your environment, making the process more consistent and efficient.
With Account Sync, the Control Center connects directly to one or more GoodSync Accounts. This provides a single, streamlined path to synchronize configuration between the Control Center, CC-Runners, and GoodSync GUI Clients.
Migrating to this new model is critical because it delivers:
Centralized management – All jobs and accounts are controlled through your GoodSync Account for consistency and visibility.
Seamless connectivity – CC-Runners and GUI Clients automatically receive their jobs and server accounts from the linked account.
Flexibility – You can link or unlink GoodSync Accounts from the Control Center at any time, granting or revoking shared access to Jobs as needed.
To take advantage of these improvements and prevent service disruption, please complete the migration using the step-by-step tutorial below.
Step 1: Connect Your GoodSync Account to Control Center Admin Account
The first step in migrating to the new scheme is linking a GoodSync Account to your Control Center administrator account. Every Control Center administrator must have their own unique GoodSync Account.
You can either:
- Connect an existing GoodSync Account to your Control Center admin account, or
- Create a new GoodSync Account and link it to your Control Center admin account.
Once this connection is established, Control Center identifies the administrator’s GoodSync Account and uses it as the central reference point for linking jobs, groups, and server accounts across all CC-Runners and GUI Clients.
- The primary administrator begins by linking their user profile to a GoodSync Account. To do this, they must log in to the Control Center, navigate to the Administrator tab, and locate their administrator account..
Click on the Associate button:
- Associate or Create a GoodSync Account. In this step, you can either link an existing GoodSync Account to your Control Center admin account or allow the system to automatically create a new GoodSync Account for you.
- Important note: If your GoodSync Control Center company was created before 12-2024, you most likely already have a GoodSync Account where your jobs are stored and running. It is critical to use that existing account during this step, rather than creating a new one, to ensure your jobs continue using that account without interruption.
After the GoodSync account has been associated with the Control Center, it will show under the Administrator account in green.
Step 2: Update all Control Center Runners to the new version
- Windows: https://www.goodsync.com/download/GoodSync-vsub-CC-Runner-Setup.exe
- macOS: https://www.goodsync.com/download/goodsync-vsub-cc-runner-mac.zip
Important Note: If you are adding new runners (not updating the existing ones), you must authenticate each new runner in two places:
GoodSync Control Center (https://jobs.goodsync.com/ui/user-login)
Log in to the Control Center > Runners tab > locate the device > Place a check in the box next to the device > Actions > Authorize
GoodSync Online account (https://www.goodsync.com/manage/login)
Log in to your account > Devices tab > Click on Authorize to the right of the device
Step 3: Log in to GoodSync Client and Turn ON Account sync
On one of the computers, you have a GoodSync CC Runner installed, open the GoodSync GUI, and log in with your associated GoodSync account from Step 1
- Turn on Account Sync:
- Click on the Account Sync Off icon (or go to Tools > Account Sync)
Click Yes to confirm turning on account sync
Step 4: Pull all Jobs from the Control Center to the GoodSync local client.
- In the GoodSync GUI, go to Tools > Program Options > Account > Control Center Upload.
Enter your GoodSync Control Center Admin Email and Password, then click Save.
- Next, navigate to Tools > Advanced > Download Jobs from Control Center.
- Click Yes, then confirm your selection when the confirmation pop-up appears.
You will be prompted with an option to clear any existing jobs or configurations in the GUI.
We recommend selecting No, though you may choose Yes if you prefer to start fresh.
A message will appear stating Jobs and Accounts are Downloaded. Click OK to continue.
Under the All Jobs section of the GUI, a new group titled Jobs Downloaded from Control Center will now appear.
Note: For instructions on creating a backup of your jobs, follow this link: How can I export/import my jobs
Step 5: Enabling the New Scheme
- Log in to GoodSync Control Center as the Administrator who completed the previous setup steps. Then navigate to Settings > Edit Company Settings.
- Turn ON the option Use Account Sync Jobs with GoodSync Clients, then click Save Changes.
- Enter your Administrator GoodSync Control Center password, then click OK to confirm.
- The Control Center will automatically log you out. Log back in under the New Scheme using the same email address and password as before.
Step 6: Uploading Jobs to the New Scheme
- Click on Jobs > SYNC WITH GOODSYNC ACCOUNT to synchronize your local jobs with the GoodSync Control Center.
- A confirmation dialog will appear; click Sync to proceed and apply the changes.
- After synchronization, Runners, Jobs, and Auto Assignments will now be managed under the new GoodSync Control Center Scheme:
- Runners remain visible under the Runners tab.
- Jobs remain visible under the Jobs tab.
- Auto Assignments now appear under the Timetable tab.
