Wasabi cloud storage can be used as a source or destination in a GoodSync synchronization or backup job. GoodSync connects to Wasabi through the Amazon S3 service.
Before starting, you will need the following:
- Your Wasabi Access Key.
- Your Wasabi Secret Key.
- The Wasabi service URL for the region containing your bucket.
Obtain Your Wasabi Access Keys
1) Log in to the Wasabi Console.
2) From the left-side menu, select Access Keys.
3) In the upper-right corner, click Create Access Key.
4) Select the appropriate user type, and then click Create.
5) Wasabi will display the new Access Key and Secret Key. Click Show to reveal the Secret Key.
Save both keys in a secure location. You will need them when adding the Wasabi connection to GoodSync.
Note: We recommend storing the credentials in a secure password manager, such as RoboForm Safenotes.
Locate the Wasabi Bucket Region
The server address entered in GoodSync must match the Wasabi region where the bucket was created.
If you do not know the bucket's region, open the Buckets page in the Wasabi Console. Locate the bucket and review its Region column.
Connect Wasabi to GoodSync
1) Launch GoodSync and create a new job:
New Job > Enter a job name > Select Backup or Synchronize > Click OK.
2) Click the folder icon on the left or right side of the job to select the source or destination location.
3) Scroll through the available services and select Amazon S3.
Wasabi uses an Amazon S3-compatible interface, so Wasabi connections are configured under Amazon S3 in GoodSync.
Note: After the connection is saved, it will be available from both sides of a GoodSync job. This allows the Wasabi bucket to be used as either the source or destination.
4) Configure the Wasabi connection using the following information:
- Server Address: Enter the Wasabi service URL matching your bucket's region.
- Access Key: Enter the Access Key created in the Wasabi Console.
- Secret Key: Enter the corresponding Secret Key.
Refer to Wasabi Service URLs for Storage Regions to locate the correct regional server address.
5) Click Test to verify the server address and credentials.
Once the connection test is successful, click Save.
6) The saved Wasabi connection will appear under Amazon S3 in GoodSync.
Select the connection, browse to the required bucket or folder, and then complete the folder selection for your GoodSync job.
