Overview of the Connection Section
Use Proxy sever used by Internet Explorer for remote connections
When checked, GoodSync will use the proxy server defined by Internet Explorer.
NOTE: To view and/or edit these proxy settings, follow these steps:
1) Go to "Control Panel."
2) Click "Network and Internet."
3) Click "Internet Options."
4) Click the "Connections" tab.
5) Click the "LAN settings" button.
Use this Proxy server for remote connections
This option allows you to specify a proxy server to use for remote connections in the fields below.
To do so, check this option and enter the proxy host name and port number into the "Proxy Server" field. Then, enter your UserID and Password into their designated fields.
Trust System Root Certification Authorities (requires restart)
This option allows third-party programs to listen in on GoodSync communications over TLS, provided that they add their certificate to system storage.
Use SMTP server to send emails (Off: use Default MAPI client)
This option allows you to specify an SMTP server to send emails.
To do so, check this option and enter the SMTP host name and port number into the "SMTP Server" field. Then, enter your UserID and Password into their designated fields and specify a Sender Email.
Secure SMTP always over TLS/SSL (port 465)
If this options is checked, new versions will be installed automatically.
Secure SMTP switch to TLS using STARTTLS (port 587)
If this options is checked, new versions will be installed automatically.
