GoodSync allows you to use a network share as either the source or destination in a Backup or Synchronization Job. Follow the steps below to connect to a network share and select a folder.
If you haven't already, download and install GoodSync.
1) Open GoodSync and select an existing Job, or create a new Job.
2) Click the Left Browse or Right Browse button, depending on which side of the Job will use the network share.
3) In the Browse window, select "Windows Shares and other Devices."
GoodSync supports network shares hosted on Windows, macOS, and Linux or Unix devices.
For this example, we will use "Sib-SMB." Sib-SMB is GoodSync's built-in SMB connection method and may discover servers or devices that do not appear in the standard Windows Network list.
4) Expand "Windows Shares and other Devices" and select the server or network share you want to use.
NOTE: If the server does not appear, click "Add Unlisted Server" and enter the server name or IP address.
5) If authentication is required, enter the User ID and Password for the network share. Then, click "OK."
6) After the connection is added, the network share account will appear in the list as "user@share."
Expand the account and select the folder you want to use as the source or destination.
Use the Browse button on the opposite side to select the other folder or storage location for the Job.
Confirm that the correct folders are selected, and then click the green "Apply" button.
7) The Job is now configured. Click "Analyze" to review the proposed changes, and then click "Sync" when you are ready to run the Job.
